Discover the unparalleled charm of Fernie Island, a private 15-acre retreat nestled in the heart of BC’s Southern Gulf Islands. Steeped in natural beauty and history, this property has been cherished by the same family for over 50 years and is now ready to welcome new stewards. Offering a unique blend of seclusion and accessibility, Fernie Island is located near the Saanich Peninsula, close to the BC Ferries terminal at Swartz Bay, Canoe Cove Marina, and Victoria International Airport. Whether traveling to Vancouver, Victoria, or international destinations, this island provides effortless connectivity while maintaining its serene character. The island features a protected harbour with a 10x40 dock, allowing all-tide access for small craft. Existing structures include a 2,100 sq. ft (approx.)three-season home with three bedrooms and a loft and immediate functionality while planning your dream residence. Additional accommodations and buildings include a year-round caretaker’s cabin overlooking the harbour, a partially renovated studio cabin perfect for guests, a workshop, storage buildings, and a covered sawmill area. Essential services are well-established, with hydroelectric power via submarine cable from Vancouver Island, a productive well with 14,000 gallons of water storage, and on-site septic. The island’s natural landscape features gentle park-like topography, low and medium bank water access, and a mature forest populated by coastal Douglas fir, arbutus, and junipers. Represented by Mark Lester, Personal Real Estate Corporation, and marketed through the Unique Properties Group of Colliers, Fernie Island is a rare opportunity to own a piece of British Columbia’s coastal paradise. Its combination of natural splendor, practical infrastructure, and prime location makes it an exceptional choice for residential or recreational use. (id:374)
