1144 Miller Road feels like the kind of classic Bowen cottage people hope they can still find, and an inviting way to own a first home on the island. Leave the car parked: the ferry, shops and restaurants are nearby, with beaches and forest trails within walking distance. Come home and settle into the hot tub tucked into a private corner of the deck. Inside, reclaimed fir floors, a wood-burning fireplace and a heat pump make the home comfortable throughout the year. Folding stairs lead to a finished, low-height loft, useful for storage, movie nights or an extra sleeping area. A metal roof is well suited to West Coast living. Recent additions include a new fridge, washer and dryer, plus spray foam insulation in the crawl space. A new shed provides storage for tools, bikes and beach gear. The fenced front garden is filled with roses, hydrangeas and rhododendrons. Out back, stone steps climb into the trees and lead to a new platform deck, creating a private place for dinners, lounging or evenings with friends.
