Escape to your own private retreat in the heart of Central Newfoundland. Located along Shanawdithit Brook, this well-equipped off-grid cabin offers the peace, privacy and independence that makes remote living so appealing. The cabin has been thoughtfully improved for comfortable off-grid use. It is fully wired with a 30-amp generator connection and features a Blaze King Princess wood stove installed in 2024. Water can be collected through the rainwater-harvesting system or pumped from the brook into two IBC storage totes, then supplied to the cabin by a solar-powered 12-volt pump. The cabin is plumbed and includes a kitchen with propane refrigerator and stove, a sink, bathtub and shower, washing machine and composting toilet system. Additional improvements include a steel garage, productive greenhouse, generator shed, woodshed and approximately ten cords of seasoned firewood. Significant work has also been completed on the access lane, including new culverts and gravel. The insulated and encapsulated crawl space adds further protection beneath the cabin. Surrounded by forest, wildlife, clean air and the sound of the brook flowing out front, this is an exceptional setting for anyone seeking solitude, recreation or a more self-sufficient way of life. Winter access is by snowmobile. Buyers must satisfy themselves regarding the permit, continued land use and any required government approvals. (id:374)
