Looking for an escape from the public? Gambier Island sits surprisingly close to Vancouver, with Douglas Bay just 45 minutes by boat from Horseshoe Bay. This is a weekend warrior's ideal retreat, where you can relax by the campfire without reserving a crowded campsite or setting up a tent. Douglas Bay is particularly sought after by buyers in the know for its more remote, secluded feel compared with much of Gambier Island. Within the community, inland view lots are especially appealing for their more accessible price point, improved sun exposure compared with many lower waterfront properties, and most of all, their breathtaking views. It is only a few minutes farther by boat, but that slight extra distance means fewer people, greater privacy, and an especially peaceful setting. (id:374)
