Above the shore of Kootenay Lake, this handcrafted log home looks out over the water through a wall of windows that pulls the view right inside. Set on 0.82 acres with its own beach, it is about 25 to 30 minutes from downtown Creston and offers 3 bedrooms, a loft, and 2 bathrooms. The main floor is open and warm, with high ceilings, log beams, and wood floors. The living room faces the lake and opens to the deck, with a wood stove for cool nights. The kitchen flows into the dining area and shares the same view, and there are two bedrooms on this level including the primary, a full bathroom, and a small office. Up top, the loft is a bright, easy space with forest views, ready for extra guests, a quiet work spot, or room for the kids to spread out. Downstairs gives you even more room, with a large family room, a bar with a wine fridge, a third bedroom, and a second bathroom, plus laundry and storage. It opens straight into the attached single car garage. Outside is where this place really comes alive. Two decks take in the sun and the lake, one set up for barbecues and one looking over the yard. A run of stairs winds down through the trees to your own beach, where the kayaks and sun shade are waiting. Out back there is a fire pit, a storage shed, fruit trees, and easy gardens. Summers here are made for the water and winters for the fire. This is lake living at its best. (id:374)
