Have you ever dreamed of owning a winery? Welcome to the Island Honey Wine Company, where honey, fruit, and flowers come together to create the world?s oldest fermented beverage: mead. Just 15 minutes from Charlottetown in the scenic community of Wheatley River, this award-winning business has been creating quite the buzz since 2017, earning recognition as one of Canada?s top honey-wine producers. Set on approximately 25 acres, the property features open pasture, mature woodland, thriving Haskap berries, fragrant lavender, and established orchards of apples and grapes. The Wheatley River, a spring-fed trout stream, borders much of the estate, adding natural beauty and ecological richness. At the heart of the operation is the 24' x 60' Meadery Facility (2017), offering a welcoming storefront and tasting room, a production area with stainless steel tanks and bottling equipment, a shipping/receiving zone, and inviting guest spaces including a sunroom, porch, and patio. Additional outbuildings include an 18' x 36' workshop/garage, a 24' x 36' barn, and an 18' x 24' tarp barn, ideal for equipment, events, or future expansion. A guest favourite is the one-of-a-kind Meadmobil Tour, a guided farm and orchard tasting that lets visitors ?taste what they?re seeing and see what they?re tasting,? creating a memorable connection between the land and the meads. Revenue streams include on-site sales, PEI Liquor Commission distribution, restaurant partnerships, cruise and bus tours, tastings, and online orders. Also included is a well-maintained 1,500 sq. ft. farmhouse with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a large unfinished basement with excellent storage and a walk-in freezer essential for fruit preservation. This turnkey operation offers not just a business, but a lifestyle. With the current owners retiring, the Island Honey Wine Company is ready for its next chapter, a rare opportunity to blend nature, community, and craft into your daily life. (id:374)
